Mikel Obi Father Kidnapped

Nigeria's Super Eagles Captain, Mikel Obi has opened up on the trauma he went through having received a call from home before the Argentina Match that his dad has been Kidnapped for the second time. In a statement released by his publicists, Mikel remarked: “Following various speculators about recent occurrence with my father. I can confirm I had to suppress emotional trauma to lead Nigeria out against Argentina last Tuesday 26th June in Saint Petersburg. “Four hours before kick-off, I received a call from Nigeria that my father Pa Michael Obi had been kidnapped for the second time. “He was on his way to a funeral in South eastern Nigeria from Jos when he was abducted along the Makurdi-Enugu expressway. “I was emotionally distraught but had to make a decision about whether I was mentally ready to play the game. “I was confused. "I`D LIKE TO SEE THE COUNTRY SUPPORT US JUST LIKE THEY SUPPORT THE SUPER EAGLES" - D`TIGERS` CAPTAIN IKE DIOGU After an amazing performance in front of the home fans at just concluded round of the FIBA World Cup African Qualifiers held in Lagos, the captain of the senior men`s basketball team, Ike Diogu made a heartfelt plea to Nigerians to support the national basketball team. DTigers won all three games played in Lagos to finish top of Group B with a 6-0 unbeaten run. When asked what message he had for Nigerians ahead of the next window, Diogu asked for support. "Well, for us, we just need everybody`s support. For me personally, I`d like to see the country support us just like they support the Super Eagles. The transformation is so real!!!!! This is nowhere else than the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium in Lagos. It was once a dark place where people never wanted to associate with.
