Magnificent New Image Of Batman From Justice League Emerges
As I’m sure most of you are aware, following his departure from the
DCEU, whether he was relieved or withdrew voluntarily, Zack Snyder has
been a one-man wrecking crew when it comes to purging his now obsolete
vision. Simply put, the Saturn Award winner has been unstoppable on
Vero, his go-to social media platform for purification, which he’s
essentially been attempting to achieve ever since Justice League began to underwhelm at the ticket booth.
As of late, however, Snyder’s seen storyboard artist Jay Oliva – who’s been a veritable treasure trove of DCEU minutia, mind you – and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice cinematographer Larry Fong assist with some of the heavy lifting.
Regardless, while I’ve personally recently concluded – his intention with the unpolished footage, notwithstanding – that no good can come from the completion of his fabled Snyder cut of Justice League (which shall live in infamy, forever tethered to his name), that’s not to say the theatrical edit itself doesn’t possess salvageable material.
For instance, late last weekend, the DC Cinematic subreddit published a magnificent image of Batman perched atop death – which you can check out below – keeping a watchful eye on Gotham City. It came accompanied with the caption, “The iconic shot we deserved” and as noted by Heroic Hollywood, the still conjures up images of the Caped Crusader on the iconic cover of The Dark Knight Returns.
Despite my inveterate pessimism, I’m still enjoying these BTS goodies, whether they be from Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice or Justice League, as I’m sure you are, too. As such, should any others surface, we’ll certainly share them with you. And who knows, maybe the DCEU can even succeed without Snyder? I guess we’ll find out later this year when James Wan’s Aquaman swims into theaters.
