Inter Milan slayer wants Super Eagles call up
The Super Eagles take a group photo before the 3-1 win over Algeria in a World Cup qualifier earlier this month. Israel-based striker Anthony Nwakaeme says he is ready if given a chance with the team.
Nigerian striker Anthony Nwakaeme has spoken of his desire to play for the Super Eagles, as he continues to bang in the goals for Hapoel Be’er Sheva of Israel.
The 27-year old was amongst the goals as his side came from behind to beat European giants Inter Milan 3-2 in the Europa League, helping them get close to a place in the next round of the competition.

Nwakaeme has already scored six times and has five assists in nine appearances for Be’er Sheva in the Israeli league, and scored 14 goals last season to end as the club’s second highest goalscorer, but his exploits have continually gone unnoticed by the Super Eagles’ coaches.
But speaking after he scored against Inter Milan on Thursday, the former Universitatea Cluj of Romania striker says he would like the opportunity to stake a claim in the Nigerian national team.
“I will be very happy if they think I deserve a call to the Super Eagles and I will honour the invitation,” he told fcnaija.com.
“Everybody wants to play for their national team but there’s no need to rush, because I don’t want to get in and out so fast.
“When I get in there, I want to prove myself and be a permanent fixture but it all depends on the coach and if he thinks I deserve it,” he added.
